Leads the daily management and operations of Collections team and department functions. Functions include all stages of collections. Promotes teamwork and effective cross:training efforts within the department. Ensures department goals are set, monitored, and met in terms of both quality and quantity. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations and with OnPoint policies and procedures. Lead departmental staff. Provide guidance and effective training and cross:training to enhance efficiency and productivity of collections workflow and ensure that departmental objectives are met. Plan, monitor and appraise job results; set performance goals and developmental activities. Coach and counsel employees to achieve desired performance results. Continuously communicate OnPoint mission, vision, strategy and operational messages.Actively promote teamwork, including ensuring proper team support and consistent communication and enforcement of policies, procedures, and performance objectives.Plan, schedule, lead, and evaluate effective staff meetings in support of strong communication and department effectiveness. Hold regular 1:1 meetings with employees to ensure personal and professional development.Provide ongoing coaching and training of all staff as outlined in each employeeA?s development plan and performance objectives.Ensure proper training and cross training of department tasks among team members to support high service expectations.Demonstrate and reinforce expectations for excellent member service by modeling and coaching for effective behaviors. Ensure team goals are attained. Devise and maintain effective reporting/monitoring mechanisms to ensure high productivity and high quality work.Monitor activity continuously to detect changes in collection volumes and needs and assure no surprises; recommend staffing changes accordingly.Establish policies and procedures for the department. Ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations pertaining to loan collections, and are regularly maintained for reference and training purposes.Recommend and implement revisions to processes and procedures to maximize productivity and efficiency while minimizing losses and expenses. Provide input to annual department operating budget.Deal with complex collection, fraud, or other activities in order to protect the Credit UnionA?s best interests while finding feasible resolutions for all parties involved.Oversee the development and system administration of the collection system, ensuring that effective processes and controls are built to ensure consistent member service and practices.Perform additional duties as assigned by management.Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience with demonstrated people/management skills. Thorough knowledge of collections policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulations and laws pertaining to collections. Experience within a financial institution is preferred.Relevant experience and knowledge within the collections areas including credit cards, real estate secured, and auto loans. Ability to coordinate a variety of assignments simultaneously and prioritize work assignments for self and staff.Ability to exercise judgment, initiative, and tact in dealing with members, staff, co:workers, management, and outside agencies.Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems.Collection system experience with building/maintaining queues, workflows, and tasks.S
