Your Challenge The Controller is primarily responsible for the accounting and financial reporting. The Controller manages the controls, processes, policies, procedures and internal controls for financial reporting. The Controller directs the propriety of the general accounting, cost accounting, payroll and various analysis as needed while managing and mentoring the accounting team and providing operations with insightful analysis regarding revenue, costing, budgets, trends and opportunities for improvements. They are responsible for maintaining a system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of operational controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Your Responsibilities Oversee the accounting department positions in a supportive role including accounts receivable, payroll, accounts payable, project cost accounting, and budgeting Assure the department is meeting the annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly goals and objectives Prepare and review financial reporting to assure that the reports are filed with accuracy and within expected guidelines Prepare financial statement consolidations in accordance with GAAP Reviews and provides monthly detailed analysis of financial results Establishes strong relationships with operational departments and serves as a primary contact for the business Manage outsourced functions including external auditors, consultants, legal and insurance brokers Support accounting requirements for International operations Works closely with manufacturing, supply chain and inventory to ensure proper controls and management of inventory. Provides cash forecasting and coordinates debt financing Maintains current policies, procedures and current accounting standard requirements to ensure compliance with US GAAP and other laws/regulations Support benefits administration as needed Your Qualifications Compliance support for annual reporting requirements with external auditors and supporting any required local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Ability to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Provide ad-hoc reporting as necessary. Knowledge of finance, budgeting, cost control and accounting principles Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, and projections An understanding of percentage of completion method accounting Demonstrated experience in developing strategic plans and annual budgets Experience in working with international subsidiaries Strong MS Office skills and excellent MS Excel knowledge for charts, graphs and reports. Track record of building and managing high performance teams. Proven organizational savvy in working across organizational boundaries and reporting lines. Strong problem solving, bias for action and results. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain in laymen's terms the use of computer related technologies. Strong customer-service orientation. Demonstrated ability to review and analyze the general ledger, monthly reconciliations, bank reporting, bank financing and a system of controls over accounting transactions. Travel Requirement: 0-20%. Only travel to local area meetings may be required. Your Education and Experience BS or higher degree in accounting or business administration. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations is preferred. Experience using SharePoint is a plus. Involvement with an ERP implementation and international experience is preferred. Minimum 8 years' of progressively responsible experience, preferably within both small/mid-size and large companies. Experience managing accounting operations and support with a minimum of 5 years managing accounting staff in multiple accounting disciplines (ie accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, etc.) Engineering and/or Manufacturing business environment experience highly desired. Experience supporting monthly financial reporting, budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
