Job Description PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY OF A CREDIT & COLLECTIONS REPRESENTATIVE: The Credit & Collections Representative primary responsibility is for collections of outstanding accounts receivable dollars from the existing account base and all other aspects of collections, resolving customer billing problems and reducing accounts receivable delinquency. Account reviews for credit line increases using credit reporting agency reports. Other duties as listed in the job description. This position reports to the Credit & Collections Manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION (Other duties may be assigned.): Reviewing open accounts for collection efforts Collect on past due accounts Making outbound collection calls in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations Resolution of client-billing problems and rescues accounts receivable delinquency, applying good customer service in a timely manner Collect customer payments in accordance with payment due dates Identify issues attributing to account delinquency and discuss them with management Review and monitor assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports Provide timely follow-up on payment arrangements Processes and investigates chargebacks on accounts Release orders, approve orders for shipment based on account status Post daily cash receipts OTHER FUNCTIONS: Other duties as assigned POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Ability to prioritize daily duties with minimal supervision Proficiency in Excel (formulas, V Lookups, pivot tables), Outlook and Word Provide collection results without jeopardizing customer service standards Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast changing environment Ability to work in a team environment Ability to read, write and verbally communicate the English language in a clear and effective manner Must be willing to conduct oneself in accordance with Company’s Core Values PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of credit and or accounts receivable functions. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential job duties satisfactorily. Ability to sit for extended periods of time. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. Creative and self-disciplined, who can identify and complete critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of three years collection experience including interaction with a large customer base. A High School diploma or equivalent with college level accounting courses is preferred TOOLS/EQUIPMENT USED: Strong knowledge of Excel - company developed TEST will be required System used: Microsoft Dynamics AX PC skills required including knowledge of Word and email Outlook system WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed primarily within an office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to maintain communication on telephone via headset. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employees must occasionally lift/push/pull or carry up to ten (10) pounds. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position reports directly to the Credit & Collections Manager. All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
