Job DetailsLevel ExperiencedJob Location Fortior Solutions Corporate - Hillsboro, ORPosition Type Full TimeEducation Level NoneSalary Range UndisclosedTravel Percentage UndisclosedJob Shift AnyJob Category AccountingDescription Job Summary The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for the day to day management of the general ledger, substantial steps within the month-end close process, monthly SALT compliance, fixed asset accounting, and other subsidiary ledger maintenance to enable preparation of monthly financial statements on timelines required by the Company's full Finance team, lenders and other constituents. This position reports to the Controller and must be able to handle multiple projects and work independently. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Conduct and/or oversee transactional accounting functions in multiple cycles (which may include cash, AR, AP, fixed assets, etc.) Participate substantially in the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries as needed and in conformity with GAAP Perform multiple key general ledger account reconciliations After incorporating journal entries from all participating team members, draft monthly financial statements in conformity with GAAP (no notes) Perform initial comparisons of draft financial statements to prior periods, documenting and resolving any significant variances from trend, expectations, or subsidiary ledger balances Prepare or supervise preparation of sales tax, use tax, property tax, and other SALT filings, ensuring corporate compliance Help implement new accounting software, solutions and processes as needed Coordinate with the Controller regarding staff work on year-end audit and tax preparation Oversee equity transactions and related recording, reporting and accounting issues Oversee the administration of the corporate T&E expense reporting solution Support the corporate Payroll function as a backup processor for the semi-monthly payroll Secondary Duties/Responsibilities Other duties as assigned Competencies/Qualifications Sufficient knowledge of GAAP Excellent Excel capabilities Experience in preparing financial statements Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required Ability to plan, organize and oversee assigned projects Ability to recognize process deficiencies and recommend/implement improvements Ability to work with all levels of staff and management both as a self-starter and in a team environment Experience with Federal contracting a plus Experience with EPICOR a plus Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting required Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in accounting CPA designation or active study program preferred Federal contracts require this employee is a US citizen Physical and Mental Job Requirements Typical office environment Must be able to work with numbers and perform math calculations Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time About Fortior Solutions Fortior Solutions is the market leader in high-assurance identity solutions used by the government and critical infrastructure.
