Job Description CorVel is seeking a staff accountant to manage all aspects of the accounting function. This includes ensuring all transactions have been property accounted for, managing the month-end close process, and preparing financial reports and analyses. The position will also be responsible for managing a variety of projects to support the business. The ideal candidate is someone who has the ability to work independently and willing to learn. Responsibilities: Process monthly re-occurring journal entries during close every month Responsible for monthly reconciliations on several accounts, including cash, refund, and accrual accounts Responsible for various other monthly projects and tasks that pertain to financial accounting Answer accounting questions by researching and interpreting data Assist with annual corporate audit process Assist with quarterly and annual SEC filings Assist in designing and implementing improvements to accounting policies and procedures Other related duties as assigned Required Skills: 1 year of Accounting experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Excellent understanding of accounting principles and practices Hands on Experience with both general ledger and monthly reconciliation Must be highly motivated self-starter who can problem solve Strong communication skills Needs to be able to work under tight monthly deadlines Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks About CorVel CorVel is a national provider of risk management solutions for employers, third party administrators, insurance companies, and government agencies seeking to control costs and promote positive outcomes.
