Job Description SUMMARY: Assists accounting staff in all aspects of Office Operations which include the following: Answer phones, greet customers, order office supplies and keep stock up, provide back-up for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Vault and Dock Sales, file and complete mail and distribute accordingly. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Exercise judgement in selecting and applying established procedures and determines when to refer problems to supervisor and other staff members. Direct calls to appropriate destinations, answer call-in questions and resolve issues over the phone. Assist Accounts Payable clerk with coding, posting and creating checks for payment. Assist Accounts Receivable in calling on past due accounts and applying payments to invoices. Assist Vault Cashier by checking in drivers and balancing all load sheets Assist Dock Sales with customer purchases and equipment rentals. All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Can perform successfully in a team environment, yet work independently. Must have demonstrated excellent customer service and retail sales experience. Due to the sale of alcohol, must be 21 years or older. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read write and speak the English language to comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‐on‐one situations to customers and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Bondable for insurance purposes OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Operate common office equipment such as 10-key calculator, computer, fax and copier. Type at the rate of 40 wpm. Company Description General Distributors, Inc. was founded by Charles A. Fick, Sr. and his brother George Fick, Sr. in 1921.
