Family Promise of Beaverton Executive Director

Mission Statement of Family Promise of Beaverton:
Family Promise of Beaverton is a nonprofit organization committed to help children and their families affected by homelessness in the Beaverton area. Our mission is to help homeless families feel loved, safe, and be able to obtain sustainable housing and long-term independence. We work with faith-based and community organizations to achieve these goals.

Executive Director Job Description:
Coordinate and direct all programs for Family Promise of Beaverton. Responsibilities include:

* Case management for families in the program: intake interviews for prospective families, developing family plans for employment, education, and social services.
* Coordinating with host congregations and volunteers providing food and support: working with local churches and community organizations to ensure adequate shelter, food, and volunteer support for families in the program.
* Hire, lead, train, and supervise 1-2 person staff.
* Maintain all operational records and track progress of families in the program. Provide data as requested to Family Promise of Beaverton Board of Trustees
* Maintain monthly expenses and develop an annual operating budget
* Attend Board meetings as requested and report on status and progress of each family
* Represent Family Promise of Beaverton in public and media venues
* Be on call for emergencies as needed. Assumes a 40 hour work-week with some overtime.
* Manage other operational duties as instructed by the Board of Trustees.

Job Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be both compassionate and passionate about helping others. He/she will be a leader, well organized, follow good decision making practices, be able to solve problems, have good interpersonal relationship skills, be a good communicator, be positive, professional, and be able to work well with a wide range of people.

Bachelors / Masters preferred, or 5 years work experience or volunteer service with a local organization.
Leadership/Management experience
Previous volunteer background and experience

2 weeks paid vacation and 10 paid holidays. Other benefits to be negotiated.
