Job Description The purchasing clerk is responsible for assisting the purchasing department with all clerical and administrative functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in a purchasing environment and the ability to process data, organize work, utilize purchasing software. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Update purchase orders with in-coming fax and email information. Call vendors with missing confirmations. Monitor daily cycle counts, set up new locations to count and add "must count" items. Monitor price changes and special buy opportunities. Reconcile vendor back order report. Receive direct purchase orders. Monitor warehouse transfer reports and notify stores of late transfers. Generate monthly fill rate report. Review daily inventory reports and notify buyers of issues. Cross train to help with special orders and stock purchases. Assists all departments and branches with inventory related issues. Works well as a team player. Follows all company Policy/Store standards. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Complete Johnstone University required courses. Participates in department meetings. Other projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: One to two years experience with administrative duties in a purchasing department, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Time management and multi-tasking skills. Strong computer and math skills.
