THE PORTLAND CLINIC JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE Epic Analyst SUPERVISOR Applications Supervisor HOURS PER WEEK Variable Exempt DEPARTMENT Information Technology The following information is designed to outline the essential functions and position requirements of this job It does not identify all tasks that may be expected nor address the performance standards that must be maintained PRIMARY FUNCTION To support new and current project development including system analysis planning and preparation To act as the primary resource dedicated to designing building testing and implementation in collaboration with appropriate departments DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide system configuration and new project development design implementation workflow optimization change management and issue resolution related to the Clinica s applications Use independent analysis and research issues to produce solution options including pros cons risks benefits and unintended consequences Detects and anticipates problems early identify trends acts as a second level of support while mentoring and assisting in training of Epic Support staff Develop support and maintain documentation and procedures as needed Acts as a resource to coworkers regarding build and workflow in application area Collaborate with other IT analysts and vendors to identify system optimization and enhancements in order to design and implement effective solutions Attend meetings to discuss team and project related activities issues change communications and updates Travel to various locations including occasional evening and weekend hours as needed Achieves and maintains certification status in assigned application s and working knowledge of other related applications Develop and maintain models and documentation of operations business and system requirements and configure system accordingly Contribute to preparation of testing scripts and materials and perform unit system and integrated testing tasks Provide support and proactive service by phone and through regular onsite visits to assess user needs including analysis of opportunities to take advantage of existing workflows and tools Work with training team to develop application specific training curriculums and materials Work closely with end users to identify business needs and the cost and benefits of implementing a solution Log track analyze resolve issues and coordinate system changes Complete project tasks within timeline as assigned by the IT Manager or Ambulatory Applications Supervisor Champion the project provide support in the ongoing implementations optimizations and upgrades Employees will not be discourteous or disrespectful to a customer or any member of the public while in the course and scope of company business Work in a cooperative manner with management supervision coworkers customers and vendors Abide by company policies Attend work regularly as scheduled Other tasks as assigned EDUCATION LICENSES REQUIRED Associates degree in Information Services or a related IS or healthcare field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED years application systems analyst experience or year relevant healthcare experience with year applications systems analyst experience or year implementation experience as an application systems analyst EDUCATION LICENSES PREFERRED Bachelora s degree in Information Systems or a related IS or healthcare field Previous Epic system experience Epic Certification EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED Excellent oral written and one on one communication skills able to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization Proficiency of Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint to create materials and documentation Excellent knowledge of English grammar and spelling for use in both verbal and written communication Able to present in front of large groups Maintains calm demeanor under pressure Strong organizational skills Capacity to partner with clinic and technical team leaders in planning and implementing technology training solutions in support of new applications Team leadership and positive agent of change Aptitude and willingness for learning new processes and software applications Ability to manage large scale organizational change as well as managing multiple priorities Experience in a clinical administrative financial or technology department in healthcare setting is strongly desired Ability to accept responsibility and use initiative to proceed with necessary tasks without direct supervision Appropriate certification in Epic application s desired
