About the job: Liberty Mutual Commercial Insurance IT is actively searching for a Senior Software Developer. This group supports our Commercial Insurance Strategic Business Unit, which is the fourth largest commercial insurer in the US and leverages its strength to continue to simplify operations and invest in new technologies that provide competitive advantage.In this position, you will have the opportunity use your active participation and presentation skills to work within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) on the Premium Generation Train. You will also be able to mentor and assist lower level Software Developers as your responsibilities and experience grows. Responsibilities: Analyze technical system problems, and designs and implement effective solutions. Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them. Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. .Analyze, design, develop, code, test, debug, deploy new software or make enhancements to existing software. Consult and collaborate on technical issues. Be prepared to work within Windows, AIX and Linux environments, as well as DB2 and Oracle databases and cross train on other application technology. Create applications within Commercial Insurance, Business Insurance Pricing and Rating applications. This includes multiple new development projects, enhancements and production support opportunities. Monitor, maintain and optimize the Pricing and Rating services Work closely with the Systems Architect and Technologists to prepare the Pricing and Rating services for rapid growth. Desired Skills: Bachelors Degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience. Knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies, architectures and technical standards. Knowledge of Lean-Agile iterative, continuous software delivery. Proficient in programming languages and tools including: Java XML Preferable: Knowledgeable in new and emerging technologies and data standards, such as: ACORD XML Confluence tools ODM (Operational Decision Manager) CGI Ratabase Optional: Knowledge of other rating engines or other rules engines such as JRules or DRules. Knowledge of design and development tools. Knowledge of layered systems architectures and layered solutions and designs; understanding of shared software concepts, test driven development.
