Ixia is expanding our Engineering team. The successful candidate will work as a part of a focused team creating industry:leading test equipment for the wireless industry.

Position Description:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in defining and developing products for testing leading:edge wireless communication equipment. In addition, as a key member of the engineering team, you will be involved in all aspects of the product development including; architecture, simulation, design, design verification and introduction into manufacturing. In this position, you will work closely with other hardware, software, system, FPGA and DSP engineers. This position is for an engineer who enjoys working the guts of the protocols and thrives on delivering solutions at the highest performance level.
Job Qualifications 13;
:BSEE with 5+ years or MSEE/Ph.D with 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
:Excellent C/C++/Python programming skills.
:Demonstrated experience in developing Firmware and bring:up for Systems:on:Chips (SOC).
:Experience in development, debugging, and productizing of large C based embedded software projects. Expert in C programming language and debugging skills especially related networking and hardware issues. Experience in working IDE based environments.
:Proficiency in C/C++/Python and OS/Kernel debugging skills are required.
:Proven experience with solving real:time embedded issues, including: threading, optimization, memory management, interrupt handling, etc.
:In:depth experience of wireless technologies such as WiFi/LTE
:Strong background of networking protocols (TCP, UDP, IP etc)
:Knowledge of security protocols (IPsec, SSL, WPA2, EAP etc)
:In depth knowledge of Linux kernel internals and device drivers.
:Completely proficient with multi:core/multi:CPU environments.
:Expertise in working with more than one Embedded Network (TCP/IP) Stacks and RTOS like Embedded Linux, ThreadX etc. Experience working with Linux network stack is highly desirable.
:Ability to work with embedded controller boards, working knowledge of multicore processors like MIPS, ARM, PowerPC etc., and deep understanding of RTOS network stack internals.
:Demonstrated ability to use debug tools such as Wireshark.
:Algorithm and data structures expertise are required.
:Demonstrated ability to learn and explore new technology areas and applications
:Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
:Excellent written and verbal communication skills
:Ability to work well in a team environment

:Past working knowledge of Cavium MIPS based CPUs.
