Director of Mission and Ethics for a
1.0 full time equivalent

Variable shift with shift durations of
Directs, controls and is accountable for facilitating mission and values formation and integration, clinical, organizational, and social ethics, Spirituality and Spiritual care, Church and community relations for a network. Develops long and short term business strategies, operational plans and oversees implementation. Manages the design, structure, development and planning issues within scope of direction. Responsible for quality, service and regulatory compliance for areas of responsibility including Organizational, Clinical, Social ethics by overseeing and facilitating the education, communication, and discernment of ethical issues at a network and community level.
Brings strategic direction, thinking, guidance, operational expertise as well as a collaborative spirit in working with key stakeholders to ensure that PeaceHealth is faithful to its purpose, identity and values. Provides counsel and leadership in enlivening, mission, ministry and the core values of PeaceHealth ensuring the integration of elements of Ethics and Moral Theology, Catholic Social Teaching, Catholic identity, spirituality, and culture and community wellbeing. Works in close collaboration with key stakeholders, the Vice President of Mission Services and other resources to sustain and grow the ministry of PeaceHealth in collaboration with our partners throughout the organization and the communities we serve.
:Provides clarity and facilitates understanding and interpretation of Catholic traditions, values, culture and ethics. Participates or engages in education of new caregiver/provider orientation about the Mission including our Catholic identity, ethics, spiritual care, Catholic Social Teaching and Ethical discernment process. Participates in and provides ongoing mission integration, formation and ethics education programs and communicates relevant information to the Office of Mission, local Executive Team, hospital ethics committee, leadership, and staff as appropriate.
:Provides oversight and staffing of Hospital Ethics Committee includes coordination of agenda planning with Vice President of Mission Services, System Ethics Director and Chairs of the Ethics Committee, researching identified topics and providing education and resources to deepen the effectiveness of the committee in meeting the ethical and moral issues present within each community delivery system. Participates in the System Ethics Committee meetings, representing critical connections to communities and networks and participating in subcommittee work as appropriate.
:Participates in interdisciplinary clinical rounds, facilitates clinical ethics consults and creates effective connections across the care delivery system to facilitate prospective, current and retrospective case review for clinical, organizational and social ethics as appropriate.
:Collaborates with the System Director of Mission Integration and Spiritual Care, the System Director of Ethics and other PeaceHealth entities to address the specific Mission, spiritual care, clinical and organizational ethics issues that arise, and facilitates policy development/review for Mission and ethics components/issues and facilitates strategic dialogue with key stakeholders to further the integration of Mission, ethics and spiritual care throughout the organization.
