The Designer will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to analyze instructional outcomes and provide expertise in the planning, development, and delivery of high-quality learning experiences for adult learners. Job Responsibilities Content Design, Development and Refinement Organizes and builds curriculum that breaks complex systems trainings into blocks or units of instruction. Creates technical courses based on business initiatives and needs within the organization. These courses must build skills, maintain proficiency and be easily accessible for defined end user groups. Creates engaging learning activities and compelling course content. Determines learning objectives, conducts needs assessments and designs programs by meeting with leadership, managers, and subject matter experts. Develops deep working knowledge of systems used within the organization and associated applications. Monitors system changes for impacts to training materials. Modifies and refines training materials to meet specific training needs and/or functionality changes. Monitors training program and materials to ensure that they remain effective and up-to-date. Training Delivery Supports delivery of training materials in-person and/or virtually. Facilitates virtual training to groups of 75+ students using e-learning tools. Works with subject matter experts before and during training delivery to ensure training accuracy. Post-Training Works with managers to address learning questions, instruction problems or new educational needs identified by end users. Devises modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the training. Reports out post-training assessment results and metrics to leadership. Analyzes training efficacy and updates content based on feedback and end user proficiency. Basic Requirements Bachelor's degree in education, training, curriculum, instructional design or related field. Two to four years in instructional design; experience in developing online, mobile training, and instructor-led courses. Knowledge of eLearning technology platforms and learning management systems. Understanding of effective instructional design models, strategies and best practices. Ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate). Analytical and planning skills to assess training needs and develop training content to meet those needs. Possesses highly developed communication and interpersonal skills permitting productive interaction with technical and non-technical professionals. Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, and audio and video scripts Hands on experience delivering training events to adult learners (both in-person and virtual) Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences Problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks Strong attention to detail Ability to travel 25% domestically Preferred Requirements Familiarity with Early Childhood Education and the role of a Center/Site Director Master's degree in Education, Training, Instructional Design or related field Proven work experience as a Training Facilitator or similar role Excellent public-speaking skills and comfort speaking in front of and managing large groups (20+ individuals) KinderCare Education is an Equal Opportunity employer.
