Artist co-operative Artistic Portland celebrates April Showers on Thursday, April 6, 2017 between 4-6. Beginning April 19, they will be showcasing their ceramic artists this month as they welcome visiting attendees at the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA). Visitors are invited to join some of our artists to paint bisque-fired ceramic bowls at First Thursday starting around 2:00 p.m. Giving back to the community is the goal by donating 100% of the proceeds from the charity bowls to the nonprofit Sisters of The Road Cafe. By the following First Thursday (May 4) those bowls will be fired and available for sale for $10 each.

Music will be performed by classical guitar duo Laurel Swetnam and Ellen Mickanin. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Co-op’s locally made art and craft will be on exhibit in the Justice Center gallery windows April 16 - May 21. The Justice Center is located at 1111 SW 2nd Avenue, and the sidewalk gallery is on SW Madison Street between 2nd and 3rd Streets.

In addition to finished art, the Co-op also offers art classes including Crayon Meditation by Ben Gilbert every Friday 4-6 pm. Upcoming classes will be posted at www.ArtisticPortland.com/Classes as they become available.
