Job Description
We are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to join our Great Life Mentoring team. The successful candidate will have an Associate or Bachelors degree or two years of experience in recruiting, training and overseeing mentors or any combination of education, training or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to meet National Mentoring quality standards. Prior experience recruiting and coordinating volunteers services and community resources. Must be highly organized with a proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with staff and community providers. Experience as a volunteer or mentor preferred. A pre:hire drug screen, criminal background check and annual TB testing are required.
:Has primary responsibility for recruiting and screening volunteers;
:Manage online recruitment tools, make first contact with volunteers and schedule interviews;
:Work as a team to support social media and advertising outreach;
:Follow screening procedures and document results;
:Maintain files and database systems for volunteers in program; data collection related to reporting (including Mentor Pro System);
:Development of the monthly update for volunteers;
:Provide support at quarterly mentor meetings;
:Collect and total volunteer hours each month and route to manager;
:Organize delivery of cards, managing timeline for gifts to volunteers;
:Work as a team to ensure program quality standards are maintained;
:Supplement the match support by completing tasks as directed by the Program Manager;
:Coordinate with Program Manager on a weekly basis.
:Support agency mission, goals, and objectives;
:Attend staff and planning meetings as scheduled;
:Maintain communication and cooperative working relationships both within the agency and community at large, while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality;
:Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Status: Part:time (20 hours/week)
