Our House is a non-profit organization serving people living with HIV/AIDS. Positions open include: CMA 24 hours per week (benefited) and two night shift caregiver/CNA to work in our 14 bed residential facility. Our House's philosophy is rooted in harm reduction and includes compassionate communication and the building of a strong sense of community to inspire people living with HIV to live well.

Caregivers and CMAs interested in working at Our House must have the following qualifications as well as an interest in working in a unique, progressive environment:

• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work within a client centered structure
• Open to working with mental illness, substance use and emotional health challenges
• Team oriented
• Flexible work ethic.


Part time CMA

A CMA at Our House is responsible for administering medication, assisting residents with ADL’s, Coordinating care and appointments and advocating for resident needs. CMAs work as a team with other clinical staff to manage symptoms and behaviors in our diverse population affected by HIV and other co-occurring conditions such as liver disease, diabetes, mental illness and substance use. Must be a Certified Medication Aide.

Hours/work days: at least 24 hours a week dayshift Friday-Sunday

Qualifications:
1. Oregon Board of Nursing Certified CMA
2. CPR certified
3. Willingness to participate in care planning, charting and in reporting
4. Sensitivity to issues regarding mental illness and substance use—willingness to work in a harm reduction model
5. Skills in organization, prioritization, initiation and communication
6. Ability to lift 10-20 pounds

Night shift caregiver/CNA

A night caregiver/CNA is responsible for direct resident care (providing physical and emotional support), as well as environmental care of the facility. The caregiver/CNA works with the RN as a team to ensure that resident and facility needs are meet.
Hours/work days position 1: at least 24 hours a week (benefited)
Hours/work days position 2: Temp to on-call position. 32 hours per week February-March then on-call.

Qualifications:
1. CPR Certified
2. Must be responsible, dependable, flexible, and have good communication skills
3. Motivated to work with persons with HIV/AIDS who require all levels of care
4. Willing to work with persons with physical and emotional health challenges
5. Knowledge to work within a harm reduction model of care
6. Knowledge of transfer techniques and body mechanics
