A fast growing Independent Medical Examination office is seeking a poised, articulate and highly organized individual to work with our team as a full time Medical Report Proofreader. This is a family owned business where team members contributions are highly valued and hard work recognized. The ideal candidate will have had previous work in either a medical or legal office, have exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal), be extremely detailed oriented, feel comfortable managing simultaneous projects and place a high value on customer service. Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism are a must. Also, previous employment or association with Independent Medical Examination (IME) companies is very beneficial.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
* Proofreading and reviewing content of medical reports for accurate use of grammar and style in a deadline driven environment.
* Review reports and make recommended changes based on doctor preference. Fact check report based on medical records and legal correspondence. Highlight inconsistencies in opinions or conclusions.
* Format report while adhering to companys style guide and aesthetic.
* Adhere to strict deadlines.
* Handle sensitive and confidential documents and information.
* Finalize report to provide error:free finished work product to client noting potential legal ramifications for attorney or claims.
* Use Microsoft Office as directed to track and maintain medical reports and correspond with clients/doctors.
* Utilize Web based applications to track work in progress.
* Keep meticulous documentation of multiple files.
* Complete projects as directed which are related to the growth and improvement of the clinic.
* Process voice files from dictation devices.
* Review and process declarations and stipulations regarding medical reviews and exams.
* Cover basic duties for supervisor when she is out of the office.
* Follow up with doctors regarding report status or report edits.
* Associates degree or higher
* Experience: 2+ years of full time office experience or ability to show proficiency in the following qualifications.
* Extreme attention to detail and excellent written communication skills.
* High degree of accuracy with time sensitive, detailed information.
* Ability to multi:task.
* Computer and Office Equipment: MS Word, Excel and Outlook, 10 key, and using Web based applications. Familiar with operation and maintenance of printers, scanners and FAX machines.
* Organizational Skills: timely, extreme attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
* Must be able to follow instructions, ask questions, and maintain routine follow:up.
* Demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and work closely under direct supervisor.
* Develop and maintain strong personal relationships with physicians, clients and office staff.
* Must be flexible and able to adapt to individualized preferences for physicians and clients.
* Verifiable work experience
* Pass a background check and drug screening
* Pass a proofreading test during the interview

* Must have a reliable form of transportation for deliveries on an irregular basis.
* Flexible working hours, typical schedule is Mon:Fri 9:00:4:30

* Hourly compensation based on experience,
* Eligible for PTO immediately and 401k after probationary period
