This position is full-time with benefits, for a hospital that specializes in mental health and substance use care that helps the patients take their first step toward recovery. The Psychiatric Hospital provides evidence-based treatments proven to have positive outcomes for patients. The ideal candidate is someone who has experience working in a psychiatric hospital as well as a BSN certification.RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide support for the inpatient and outpatient services that offer support and compassion through specialty programs that meet the patients needs. Oversee the assessment, referral and admission activities during the assigned shift. Help provide telephonic and in person risk assessment as well as crisis intervention. Initial contact with referral sources and potential patients. Coordinate the referral and intake process. Determine the appropriate level of care and maintain all associated communication. Ability to complete pre-certifications. Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment arranging for admission of patients. Initiate calls to physicians and other related tasks as directed by the Case Manager.QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree with a BSN required. One year of related experience within psychiatric patient care required. At least 2 years of experience with intake assessment activities within mental health preferred. Knowledge of the DSM-IV, DSM V and then Mental Status Exam along with ASAM preferred.
