The St. Helens, Oregon ceilings manufacturing facility of Armstrong World Industries, Inc., is currently hiring qualified Production Technicians. General Duties:
:Safe operation of forming, imaging and packaging machines
:Routine maintenance
:Computerized reporting of production data, statistical data use, and development of process and quality knowledge
:Due to the continuous nature of our business, candidates must be willing to work rotating shifts and weekends (when necessary).
:Possess High School Diploma or GED equivalency
:Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends (when necessary) and overtime
:Perform repetitive tasks for up to 30 minutes at a time
:Move up to 50 lbs routinely
:Ability to work up to 13 hours in a rolling 24 hour period
:Demonstrated ability to solve problems and provide recommendations for action
:Ability to work well in a team environment
:Currently possess basic computer skills in Microsoft Word (creating and saving documents) and Excel (entering data into cells) software as determined by assessment quiz
:Ability to pass basic comprehension assessments (NCRC Mathematics, Technology, Reading for Information and Locating Information)
:Accurately use basic measuring devices
:Follow written guidelines and procedures with accuracy
:Communicate well with others
:Read, write and perform basic math skills
:Participate on project teams and/or safety committees
:Must have transportation to and from work
:Must have at least 6 months of manufacturing (or related) workexperience. Examples could include: distribution/warehousing, military service, machine shop, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
:At least 2 years of consistent work history
:Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
:One or more years of direct manufacturing experience
Our facility is a tobacco, drug and alcohol free environment. We provide an excellent salary and our benefits' package starts on DAY ONE of employment. Our production positions start at 18.55 per hour (includes a shift differential).
