Locally owned Portland Independent Insurance Agency has immediate opening for Account Manager in our Commercial Lines Department.
Account Managers are responsible for servicing existing accounts as well as working closing with producers to round out accounts and quote new accounts. An Account Manager performs a variety of technical assignments and administrative duties in the areas of maintaining computer files, reviewing insurance contracts, marketing of accounts to carriers, coordination of claims, loss control, audit services and research and analysis in various areas as needed. An Account Manager drives client satisfaction by helping to establish realistic client expectations, seeking client input, and meeting service commitments on many time sensitive tasks in a professional and punctual manner.
Essential Duties:
:Provides excellent customer service to clients by helping them understand their insurance policies/coverages and determine their individual service needs.
:Analyze contracts for certificates of insurance, issue certificates and binders. Review for accuracy all policies,
changes/endorsements, audits and other documents.
:Assist in preparing proposals, recommendations and reviews for clients.
:Maintain clients computer file with respect expiration lists, policy summaries, certificates, and correspondence.
:Assist clients and carriers with day:to:day email, phone, fax and mail requests in areas of policies, endorsements, audits,
accounting/billing, coordination of claims/loss control services.
:Handles the marketing process including preparation of all necessary applications and data necessary for a complete submission to underwriters.
:Develop and maintain relationships with clients and carriers through phone calls, personal meetings, training seminars and CE classes.
:Keep current on marketplace changes and inform client as necessary.
A successful candidate will thrive in this fast:paced position and must be energetic, highly:motivated and able to work independently. This position requires strong organizational and inter:personal skills, along with prior insurance experience.
A Preferred candidate will have:
:High School graduate with minimum three years experience in the field of commercial insurance. Other combinations of work and/or education will be considered.
:Knowledge and understanding of property and casualty coverages, current legislation, rules, laws and other regulations.
:Ability to establish work priorities and manage time effectively.
:Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
:Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
:Ability to compose correspondence and business letter.
:Ability to effectively present information to clients and to insurance carriers/vendors.
:Required to maintain or obtain within 6 months, current Commercial Lines Agents License for the State of Oregon.
:Fluent computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel. Ability to learn Agency Management software.
