Lead Sales Associate

We are seeking an experienced Lead Sales Associate to join our team at Salty's Pet Supply. This is a full time position, 30-35 hours a week.

Salty's is a locally owned, neighborhood pet supply shop focused on healthy, practical, and affordable products for cats, dogs, chickens, and small animals.

The primary objective of the Lead Sales Associate is to provide excellent service to all customers, generate sales and maintain store presentation.

Required Characteristics:
• Exceptional customer service skills and at least 2 years retail sales experience
• Able to multi-task and be self-motivated
• Love of helping and engaging people and pets; excels at building customer relationships
• Patient at all times, no matter the circumstance 
• Ability to maintain a positive and happy attitude 
• Excellent communication skills; including knowing when to ask for help
• Responsible, reliable and punctual
• Able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Available to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed
• Knowledgeable about holistic methods and approaches to prevent/treat chronic health issues
• Experience with herbs, supplements and pet food diets (especially raw food)

Key Responsibilities:
• Conducting sales transactions, receiving and pricing merchandise on a POS system
• Maintain a clean, neat and stocked store
• Strive to meet and exceed sales goals
• Provide support to team members and work closely with management team
• Solve employee and customer issues to the best of ability in absence of Store Manager
• Problem solve on the fly and provide input on how store operations can improve 
• Advise and engage customers on appropriate training and pet nutrition
• Open and close the store 

We offer competitive wages, PTO, and discounts on products to all employees. Health benefits are offered to employees working 30 hours or more after a probationary period. Schedule flexibility and working evening and weekend shifts is required. Compensation is hourly, starting at $13 or DOE.
