Portland, Oregon manufacturing facility.

As a member of the Portland Plant Leadership Team, the Quality Manager will oversee the Portland Quality Department and contribute to the overall, long:term success of the organization.
Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
:Lead the day:to:day operations of the Quality Department, which includes the management of Quality Engineers, the Micro lab and lab technicians, the Material Non Conformity Process, and ISO Systems
:Establish, review and respond to consumer complaints
:Maintain a continuous improvement environment and be the main contact for consumers and suppliers
:Serve as the lead for validation of all changes in yogurt manufacturing process
:Serve as a member of the Plant Leadership Team
:Oversee new product and process trials, collaborating with corporate R and D
:Direct, supervise, coach and develop all quality department personnel
:Budget owner for lab supplies, labor, general supplies, lab services, cleaning agents and pest control.
:Help develop, implement and follow:up on special projects and programs (i.e. HAACP, Laboratory Hygiene, MSDS program, Master Sanitation Program etc)
:Ensure superior performance GMPs, CIPs, Training etc.
:BS degree in Food Science or Microbiology
:Minimum of 10 years food manufacturing experience in a Quality/Manufacturing environment.
:Highly developed communication, leadership, interpersonal, project management skills, coupled with organizational sensitivity, and the ability to influence key decision makers at all levels.
:Must act as a change agent who is able to build positive relationships on a foundation of trust and mutual respect.
:Technical expertise in finding root cause of quality issues and implementing best solution possible.
:Formal root cause analysis training preferred and must be demonstrated.
:Ability to sift through data to find key factors that contribute to a successful product and the ability to communicate this information to non:technical plant leaders and employees.
:Must be able to anticipate and prepare 3:5 year strategic vision for Quality excellence.
:Experience in the dairy or food industry is desired.
:Knowledge of local, state and federal quality regulations is also desired.
