Armstrong World Industries (AWI) has a job opportunity for a Project and Reliability Engineer at our ceilings tile plant in St. Helens, OR. The Project and Reliability Engineer will be responsible for implementing, improving and managing plant engineering projects. The Project and Reliability Engineer would drive long:term improvement projects and tackle chronic equipment reliability issues, in addition to executing capital projects. The Project and Reliability Engineer will be responsible for providing technical services relating to manufacturing equipment and processes, including daily technical support, and identifying cost reduction opportunities. This role has significant contact with production technicians, technical services, and Value Stream Managers.

Key Responsibilities of the Project and Reliability Engineer:
:Providing technical engineering assistance on a proactive basis
:Participating as a member of the plant to drive resolution of common cause and special cause engineering issues that negatively impact plant reliability
:Investigating equipment and manufacturing problems in the plant and recommending corrective action
:Coordinating work between outside contractors, maintenance technicians and operations to safely complete projects
:Executing capital engineering projects per agreed cost, schedule, and performance
:Applying Precision Maintenance concepts and principles to all work performed
:Transferring technical knowledge where appropriate to other plant personnel to elevate organization understanding and performance
:Developing, implementing and improving required maintenance systems (Precision Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance Optimization, etc.)
:Analyzing process data to identify areas of opportunity
:Developing and implementing changes in maintenance procedures/practices which will result in increased equipment reliability
:Leading efforts to perform Root Cause Failure Analyses to identify and remove reliability defects

Required Qualifications of the Project and Reliability Engineer:
:Bachelors degree in a relevant engineering discipline
:1+ years of experience in project engineering
:Project management experience
:Experience in facilitating teams and projects
:Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Desired Qualifications of the Project and Reliability Engineer:
:3+ years of experience in project engineering
:Professional Engineer certification
:Experience driving process improvement in a manufacturing environment
:Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools, including Single:Minute Exchange of Die (SMED), 2P, or 3P
:Experience in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project
