Join us in our efforts to help the Achon Uganda Children's Fund achieve their goals of helping the village of Awake rebuild itself after Uganda's civil war, where the devastation has only been magnified by years of poverty. Yet it is not hopeless. Julius Achon has not forgotten his village, and founded the Achon Uganda Children's Fund with the goal of helping to create a state of self-sustainability, beginning with a medical center. People in his village who suffer from diseases, such as malaria, HIV/AIDS, and women who are in labor, must walk over 5 km for even the most basic medical care. For the thousands of people in the surrounding Orum County, the closest Regional Hospital is 65 km away, along challenging roads. People in this region suffer daily and in some cases, die needlessly because they do not have access to routine, preventative healthcare and emergency medical attention.

Achon's goal has come to fruition, and the medical center is scheduled to open late this summer. However, the center is still in need of medical equipment, medications, and supplies.

Please join us in a benefit concert, on Friday, August 10th, at 7:00 pm, at the Arista Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. This concert will feature Portland's own musicians, Tom Grant, Andrew Gorny, Kristen Hewitt, Chris Mai, Alex Taimanao, and Travis Stine. 100% of ticket proceeds will benefit the Achon Uganda Children's Fund directly, and will go towards the medical center.
