Looking for Bassist

ISO bass player. IF you play a stand up there are extra points, but not exclusive to that dimension. Vocal ability helpful, but not imperative. Performance-minded intermediate level, but pushing it up very quickly. Currently, we are two as mostly acoustic rhythm/lead and voices. Adding drums/percussion soon as possible. I will send a URL to responders to review some of our musical work (raw, but you get the idea). We lean towards Originals, Dylan, Rhett Miller, Bonnie Raitt, Shawn Colvin, Wilco, etc. We are looking to practice 2x a week and eventually perform 1 or 2x a week if not more. Open to ages mid 20s and 50s. No smoking please.

Pirate Girls?

Yarrr! We've been a pirate band in Portland for about the past five years.
It's been a band of dudes up until now, and we think it's time for the pirate girls to represent
We get really good shows, and it's an easy band to book. It's the most fun you can have with your
clothes on...which is optional. lol!

It's one night a week practice and a few shows a month.
I'd like to put series of out of town shows together for next spring.
Probably Washington or northern California.

We're looking for drums, keys, guitar, bass, stringy thing, blowy
thing....Whatever you play is fine. It's more about the piratute.
Ambition goes a long way. We're pirates first...the musicianship is just a necessary evil.
Yarrrrr!

Check us out at:

Or just Google Sunken Chest.
There is a bunch of stuff out there from outdoor shows we've played around the coast.

Press Release:

ANNAMERCURY

Marinated together in early 2009 as the 5 member band like blending choice seasoned spices in a culinary treasure to create rock music for the world. Although, initially each member helms from different corners of the west region of the United States. They met and formed the band while living in Seattle, WA after a consistent time of artistically crossing paths. The underlining unspoken message the men want to say with their music is: “From the basement, to all the listening and visual audiences everywhere this is for you”.

“AM” (AnnAMercury) is comprised of Brady singing lead vocals, Jeff playing drums, Robin strumming the bass, with guitars being laced by both Pete and Ryan. All five share a mutual inner passion for music and a quiet determination to be as good as they possibly can be. The music that the band chooses to create is original in nature with a savory rock-n-roll flavor. And each member contributes by drawing on their own musical backgrounds in a combination of ways to make the songs happen.

After only seven months in the making the band is currently working on finishing its first songs to be recorded as an EP late summer in the legendary London Bridge Studio. Also, be sure to look for the band to begin their live public performances this coming November 2009 with much fanfare debut.

EP release date is scheduled for November 15th 2009...You don't want to miss it! Checkout and follow the band at: (www.myspace.com/annamercurylive) & (www.reverbnation.com/annamercury)

Thank you,
ANNAMERCURY

Bass Player Needed!

Bass player needed to complete 3 or 4 piece original metal project. Age 30+ preferred, but willing to look at younger/mature players. Male or female doesn't matter so long as you have chops and can keep up. The material we are working on currently is in somewhere in the vein of Down, Prong, Pantera, with some regular old schoolish riffing mixed in as well. We have gear (drums, bass, guitar, small pa, etc) and a place to rehearse. All you have to do is show up with your talent. We're older and don't have delusions of getting "signed." We just want to play music that we love, and do it well. J. 503-428-4334

Experienced guitar/vocals, guitar and drums looking for bass. Ideally you bring your own feel and a few original tunes to the band, but if you just want to learn our songs no one will complain.

In a perfect world you have a practice space, but we aren't really expecting that.

Some tunes up on myspace under a previous band name (The Warshers) but with two guitars the band has moved in a louder direction since then. Still some dynamics and acoustic around the edges.

Call Alan (503-415-1924) to learn more.

Tabla Lessons

The tabla occupies a very important position among Indian Musical Instruments. The sounds and beats of the tabla have the unique ability of transforming any kind of music and giving it a completely new dimension.

What is the tabla?
An Indian Percussion instrument, the tabla refers to a pair of asymmetrical hand drums which are small in size (contrasting sizes) and tuned to different timbres. tabla is the premiere accompanying and solo percussion instrument in North Indian classical music, used in instrumental, vocal and dance music’s. I have studied this ancient, intensely creative tradition in the U.S. and India over the past 20 years.

If you would like lessons in one of the most sophisticated drumming styles that fuses easily with many different musical genres. Please contact me via email.

Learn:
-How to produce the different tones of the instrument
-Traditional Repertoire
-Rhythmic theory or North and South India
- Beginners welcome! (all ages)

Sonor S Classix Drumset - Sonors second highest line of drums in a hard to find "bebop" configuration. The shells are Scandinavian birch with a beautiful rosewood veneer. Drum sizes are 12x9, 14x14, 18x16, and 14x5. I purchased these drums new in 2008 and they are in immaculate condition. This shell pack is a bargain at $1880, but I'm throwing in a complete hardware pack as a "recession bonus". Call Sean at 503-752-9314, or email if you prefer. Check 'em out.

Songwriters:Record Demo
If you don't have a band,I will demo your song with guitar, drums, bass, piano and a lead vocal, either male or female at a cost of $185. This price includes one CD. Instrumentation is available at $30 for each part. If you only want let's say vocal, guitar and bass then it's only $90 for that. If you've done any checking around then you'd know that's very reasonable. To hire good musicians, you'd have to pay them at least $25 per hour + studio time . With that in mind you can see that a flat rate of $185 per song is great. In addition, I've been in business as a studio engineer/producer and musician for 20+ years and have played on many CD projects. I love music.
(If you have the basic tracks already recorded, send us your ADAT tape, mp3's, or computer files and we can add any additional instruments or vocals.) Call 503-235-7402
